Caption: Richborough power station. This power station closed in 1996 and is currently being demolished (as of 2009). Opened in 1962 it originally burnt coal but was converted to oil in 1971. In 1989 it was converted to burn Orimulsion, a bitumen-based fuel. However, it was closed after concerns over the environmental effects of the fuel. Photographed in 1990, in Kent, England, UK.
