Caption: Apollo 12 visit to Surveyor 3 spacecraft. US astronaut Alan Bean, lunar module pilot for the Apollo 12 lunar landing mission, visiting the Surveyor 3 spacecraft which had landed on the Moon over two years earlier on 20 April 1967. In the background at upper right is the lunar module in which the Apollo 12 astronauts landed on the Moon. This photograph was taken by mission commander Charles 'Pete' Conrad. Apollo 12 was the second manned mission to land on the Moon, arriving in the Ocean of Storms on 19 November 1969. Astronauts Charles Conrad and Alan Bean made two excursions on the surface for a total of 7 hours 45 minutes.
