Vascular bundles (round orange structures) can be seen containing xylem (larger openings) and phloem (smaller openings) tissues. Xylem transports water and mineral nutrients from the roots throughout the plant, while phloem transports carbohydrates and plant hormones around the plant. Magnification: x100 when printed 10 centimetres wide.
