Caption: Apollo 12 landing plaque. Close-up view of a replica of the plaque which the Apollo 12 astronauts left on the Moon in commemoration of their flight. The plaque was attached to the ladder on the landing gear strut on the descent stage of the mission's Lunar Module (LM). Apollo 12 took place from 14-24 November 1969. It was the second manned mission to land on the Moon, with Charles 'Pete' Conrad and Alan Bean descending to the lunar surface on 19 November 1969. The third crew member, Richard Gordon, remained in lunar orbit in the command module. Photographed in November 1969.
