Caption: Puregon drug vials and injector. The active component in this drug is follitropin beta, a form of recombinant follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). It is used to to induce development of multiple follicles in a woman's ovaries prior to harvesting the eggs for in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) or other assisted-reproductive technologies. It may also be used to induce ovulation in infertile patients for whom the cause of infertility is functional and not due to primary ovarian failure. Photographed in a hospital in Paris, France.
