Caption: Interactive robotic sculpture. Scientist interacting with the 'Snake Robot'. This robot is constructed from a series of artificial vertebrae containing pneumatic muscles. It is able to detect the movement of its viewer and can interact, mimic and react accordingly. Although created originally as part of an artistic research project, the findings may have possible future applications in physiotherapy and rehabilitation techniques. Photographed at Nottingham Trent University, England, UK.
