Caption: Heart failure. Fluorescent deconvolution micrograph of endothelium heart tissue from a heart failure patient. Heart muscle (myocardium) cells are green, calcium sensing receptors are pink. Calcium plays an important role in the contraction of muscle, and therefore in the pumping of the heart. Malfunctions in the working of calcium sensing receptors can lead to heart failure.

Release details: Model release not available. Property release not required.
