Caption: PET (positron emission tomography) scan of the human heart showing the effect of a blood clot. Compare with PET scan 4k6891, which shows a severely restricted heart scan taken four days earlier. This scan demonstrates effects of t-PA (a protein called tissue-type plasminogen activator) which is instrumental in dissolving fibrin. Metabolism has been restored in all but the left side of the heart.
