Caption: The notch in the shadow of an overhanging rock centers on the star of a prehistoric Hohokam rock art panel on the Summer Solstice, at the Sun-Struck Site in South Mountain Park, Phoenix, Arizona. At the same time, the right edge of the shadow also bisects concentric circles. Many other significant alignments occur at this Hohokam petroglyph site on both solstices, the equinox and cross-quarter days.
