Hydrogen bonding is shown by beta sheets (arrows) and random coils (wires). Acrp30 modulates a number of metabolic processes, including glucose regulation and fatty acid catabolism. It is secreted from adipose tissue into the bloodstream and is abundant in blood plasma. Levels of Acrp30 are inversely correlated with body fat percentage in adults and are thought to suppress factors that may contribute to type 2 diabetes and obesity.
