Caption: STS100-347-025 (28 April 2001) --- A Canadian ''handshake in space'' occurred on April 28, 2001 as the Canadian-built space station robotic arm transferred its launch cradle over to Endeavour's Canadian-built robotic arm. A Canadian mission specialist--astronaut Chris A. Hadfield of the Canadian Space Agency (CSA)--was also instrumental in the activity as he was at the controls of the original robot arm from his post on the aft flight deck of the shuttle.
