INHBA is a subunit of both activin and inhibin, two closely related glycoproteins. The INHBA subunit joins another (alpha) subunit to inhibit the secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). FSH regulates the development, growth, puberty maturation, and reproductive processes of the body.
