Caption: View of the recoil chamber of the Tagged Photon Spectrometer detector in the proton experimental area at Fermilab, Illinois. The recoil chamber forms the core of the detector which also consists of drift chambers, Cerenkov counters, calorimeters & a muon "wall". Protons with an energyof 100 GeV from the Fermilab Main Ring accelerator are used to produce a beam of tagged photons which collide with protons in a target. The experiment is studying the decay of psi and D* particles created by these collisions. The photo is taken from a viewpoint looking through the cylindrical recoil chamber towards the target where the tagged photons collide with protons. (June '84)
