Caption: This color enhanced, axial (cross sectional) CT image of the brain in an infant who suffered severe lack of oxygen shows extensive infarction of both cerebral hemispheres. The hemispheres show diffuse hypodensity (look darker than normal) indicative of diffuse brain damage. (Enhancement of BF3190).
