Caption: Russian volcanoes, satellite image. Satellite image showing three volcanoes of the Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia. The Karymsky volcano can be seen under the clouds to the north of the crater lake (centre, blue) of the Akademia Nauk volcano. The Maly Semiachik volcano and its lake can also be seen (upper right). Green is vegetation, blue is water, and clouds are white. Karymsky is a stratovolcano and is the most active volcano of Kamchatka's eastern volcanic zone. Image obtained in July 2001.
