A 'perfect mirror' has been invented by MIT scientists which has very unusual properties. It can reflect light far more efficiently than normal metal mirrors but it can also be tuned to reflect certain wavelengths of light. The mirror can be coated onto any surface and be used for example as a transparent yet highly efficient heat reflector.
