Scientists have discovered that a species of brittlestar is covered with hundreds of tiny lenses. These lenses act as optical receptors for an all-seeing compund eye. More remarkable is that these lenses are more effective than the best optical microlenses made by man, and could lead the way to more advanced optical components of the future.
