Taken from space in 2013-2014 by the Landsat 8 we can see the Earth’s canyons in their full glory. Canyons are created from water and movement of the Earth’s crust. Over millions of years the water flows and erodes through the rocks, creating canyons such as the Grand Canyon and Colca canyon. Others are formed through movement of the Earth’s tectonic plates. The canyons reveal secrets through the exposed rocks and allow geologists to study the Earth. The existence of canyons prove that there were once seas and rivers where now none exist.
