Eurostar, the Channel Tunnel supertrain, will start carrying passengers between Britain and the European continent next year. It is one of the most sophisticated trains ever built - one that had to overcome major engineering challenges to enable it to operate internationally. Travelling at up to 320 kilometres per hour, it will make the London-Paris journey in about 3 hours. The elegant, gleaming train is currently undergoing final tests in Britain and France.
