The magic wand is a computer guided robot arm that uses new imaging technology to help surgeons locate and remove brain tumours. Using the Magic Wand, surgeons are able to pinpoint exactly where the tumour is and find the precise direction to approach it from, this minimising the damage to normal brain tissue. The device improves the efficiency of operations, and means less time in hospital and a speedier recovery for patients.
