Scientists in England, led by Nobel Prize winner Sir Aaron Klug, are developing a molecular tool-kit which can manipulate DNA inside cells. The kit uses a class of proteins called "zinc-fingers" that can grip specific DNA sequences. This has important implications and applications for the treatment of genetic diseases.
