The superbug: methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, has been shown to be particularly resistant to most of today's modern antibiotics. A different method, however, relies on the ability of bacteria which live within seaweed to combat this bug. The researchers believe that the marine environment as a whole could prove an invaluable source of new antibiotics for the future.
