A newly developed sperm-sorting technique developed in the US Dept of Agriculture's research centre has been proven to give up to 85% sorting accuracy - more than any other method. The technique utilises the known genetic weight differences between a "female" sperm (X chromosome-carrying) and the "male" sperm (Y-chromosome-carrying). Many sex-linked genetic diseases could be avoided using this method.
