Wallflower bud. Light micrograph of a cross-section through an immature wallflower bud (Cheiranthus cheiri), showing the male and female reproductive organs of the flower. The female pistil (red) is at centre, and surrounding that are six male anthers (pink), each of which have four pollen sacs filled with developing pollen grains, or male sex cells (orange). Magnification: x44 when printed 10 centimetres wide.
