Andrewsarchus. Artwork of the extinct prehistoric mammal Andrewsarchus mongoliensis. This carnivorous ungulate (hoofed animal) lived during the Eocene epoch, 60-32 million years ago. Fossil evidence of the huge skull suggest that Andrewsarchus was an extremely powerful wolf-like animal, probably measuring 4-5 metres long , 2 metres high at the shoulder and may have weighed over 1000 kilograms.
