Ares Vallis. Mars Express satellite image of Ares Vallis, showing deep gulleys at centre. Ares Vallis is a valley on Mars which appears to have been carved by a moving liquid, perhaps water. Data for this image were obtained in October 2004 by the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on ESA's Mars Express.
