Black vine weevil. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of the head of a black vine weevil (Otiorhynchus sulcatus). One of the compound eyes (black) can be seen along with both antennae (lower right and left) on either side of its mouthparts (lower centre). Weevils are small beetles that infest a wide range of plants and crops. Magnification: x37 when printed 10 centimetres wide.
