Passenger aircraft construction. Here the upper panel of an Airbus passenger plane fuselage is being held in the jig of an automatic riveting machine. This machine is precision-programmed to locate the axis by means of a video camera, and then to drill and install the rivet in exactly the right place. The machine is capable of repeating this process 16,000 times in just a few hours. Photographed at EADS (European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company), Hamburg, Germany.
