Passenger aircraft construction. Outer assembly work being carried out on an Airbus passenger plane. Once the separate sections of the plane are joined together, the outer assembly work, orbital couture (stitching), is done automatically by a robot called SOJA (Systeme Orbital de Jonctionnement Automatise). SOJA aligns the necessary rivets and a human operator checks their positioning before they are fixed in place. Photographed at EADS (European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company), Toulouse, France.
