Passenger aircraft construction. Technician working on the emergency operating instruments of the tail fin of an Airbus passenger aircraft during its construction. The plane's flight data recorder, or 'black box', (red, bottom right) can also be seen. This records instrument readouts when an aircraft is in flight. In the event of an accident the data held in the recorder is used to simulate the last hours of the flight in order to determine what went wrong. Photographed at EADS (European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company), Toulouse, France.
