Nile crocodile (Crocodylus niloticus) head. Nile crocodiles are one of the largest reptiles, reaching a length of over six metres. They inhabit tropical and subtropical areas of Africa and Madagascar near swamps, lakes and rivers. They feed on large animals such as antelope and gazelles, as well as smaller prey such as water birds, fish and small mammals. Photographed in the Hamat Gader crocodile farm, Golan Heights, Israel.
