Caption

Light micrograph of the chromosomes (karyotype) of a female with Turner's syndrome. Humans have 46 chromosomes arranged in 23 pairs. Turner's syndrome is caused by the presence of only one, or only one complete, sex chromosome. Normally females have two X chromosomes, those with Turner's syndrome have only a single one (at bottom right, blue highlight). Turner's syndrome results in short stature, infertility, web neck, and a broad chest with widely spaced nipples.
