Chiral dice. Computer artwork of dice that are being used to demonstrate the property of chirality, or left- and right-handedness. The dice on the right are mirror images of the dice on the left. In addition, unlike some symmetrical objects, these dice cannot be superimposed on their mirror images by a series of rotations and translations (movements sideways). Chirality is an important property in some areas of chemistry, physics, biology and geometry. In chemistry and physics, chirality is a property of some subatomic particles and some molecules. In biology, the human hands are an example of chirality. A helix and the Mobius strip are examples of chiral objects in geometry.
