Olive oil and garlic. Bottles of olive oil next to bulbs of garlic, in a grove of olive trees (Olea europaea). Olive oil, used in cooking and to flavour salads, is high in mono-unsaturated fats, thought to be healthier for the heart. Garlic (Allium sativum) is used in cooking to give a strong flavour to many dishes. Certain chemicals in garlic are thought to reduce the risk of heart disease. Photographed in the Peloponnese region of Greece.
