Visual attention research. Colour fields used in research into the mechanisms behind visual attention. This research has demonstrated visual attention to be a kind of 'strobe' in permanent displacement - similar to a light beam moving from target to target seven times a second. This discovery could help to understand the neural mechanisms of attention and link them to certain oscillations in brain activity. Photographed at the Centre for Brain and Cognition research, University of Toulouse, France.
