A nucleus is seen at lower right. These cells produce sugar using sunlight (photosynthesis) in their chloroplasts (dark grey, upper left & right). Starch granules (pale ovals) can be seen in the chloroplast at upper left. Magnification: x18,700 when printed at 10 centimetres across.
