These organelles include mitochondria (oval structures, cluster seen at bottom left) which produce energy for the cell; endoplasmic reticulum (ER, long strands) which manufacture and modify proteins; Golgi apparatus (strands stacked together) which process and store lipids and proteins synthesized in the ER.
