Prostheses by French surgeon Ambroise Pare. Historical illustration of prosthetic arms and legs designed by French surgeon Ambroise Pare (1510-1590). Pare is considered one of the pioneers of surgical techniques. He gained much experience as a military surgeon on the battlefields of Italy. He published several books on anatomy and surgery. Artwork published in 1888.
