Leather tanning industry, 19th-century illustration. Workers in a dyeing workshop preparing fine morocco leather from animal skins. A tannery is where animal skins are turned into leather. Chemicals are used to make the skins tough yet soft. Further processing includes polishing and dyeing of the leathers. Artwork published in 1867.
