Crescent Moon at sunset, obscured by cirrus clouds. The orange glow is caused by sunlight from the setting Sun. The area of the lunar disc not exposed to direct sunlight is also seen, due to Earthshine, where sunlight reflected off the Earth reaches the Moon and is reflected back to the Earth again.
