Close-up of lentigo maligna on the side of the nose in a 62 year old male patient. Lentigo is a flattened brown lesion of the skin caused by excessive development of melanin skin pigment, common in the elderly and light-skinned people who have been exposed to a lot of sun. Lentigo maligna is a sign of the pigmentation developing into a malignant melanoma skin cancer.
