2018 European heat wave affecting farmland, satellite image. At left are agricultural fields around the town of Slagelse in Zealand, Denmark, in July 2017, The lush green fields are replaced by dried out land in July 2018 (right). This was part of a larger heatwave affecting most of the northern hemisphere, caused by the jet stream being further north than usual. Images obtained by the Copernicus Sentinel-2 mission.
