Leaf miner damage to an Aquilegia sp. plant. Leaf miners are insect larvae that live within leaf tissue. They can be the larvae of many different insect species, including moths (family Lepidoptera), flies (family Diptera) and some wasps and beetles. Many cause damage to garden plants and crops.
