A South African hedgehog (Atelerix frontalis), in Kenhardt in the Northern Cape province of South Africa. These insectivorous hedgehogs, which mainly eat earthworms, grasshoppers and crickets, are nocturnal and can consume up to 30% of their body weight in one evening when foraging.
