Side view of a blue-winged grasshopper (Oedipoda caerulescens) resting on a grass stem in an olive grove habitat. This is a medium sized grasshopper with two or three pale bands on the forewings found in dry open areas with low grasses and shrubs. It is found throughout southern Europe, as well as parts of Asia and north Africa. Photographed in Corfu, Greece, in July.
