Caption

Upper epidermis of an red onion skin undergoing deplasmolysis. The cells contain vacuoles with red anthocyanin. The footage starts with cells showing plasmolysis. Water is added to the slide and the concentration of water in the vacuoles increase with the protoplasts pushed against the cell walls again, the cells are turgid again. Footage taken with time-lapse of about 500% with an 20x objective, field of view 0,5mm, magnification 200x when printed 10 centimetres wide.
