Covid-19, which was first identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019, is a respiratory infection that can lead to fatal pneumonia. It is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 (previously 2019-nCoV) coronavirus. As of early February 2020, over 17,000 people have been infected in China with over 360 deaths, leading to travel restrictions, infection control measures, and cancellation of public celebrations for Chinese New Year, to prevent the spread of the virus. Photographed on 26th January 2020.
