Italian and Soviet particle physicists, in 1963. From left: Italian theoretical physicist Tullio Regge (born 1931), Soviet physicist Igor Semenyushkin (born 1928), and theoretical physicist Rudolf Faustov. They are walking towards the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), Dubna, in Russia's Moscow region. Semenyushkin, at the time of this photograph, was deputy director of the high-energy laboratory at JINR. Regge developed an analytical methods in quantum physics and (Regge theory) general relativity (Regge calculus). Faustov has worked on particle physics and cybernetics.
