Impact craters, Mars, satellite image. North is at right. This is an overhead stereo-colour image of three impact craters in the Tyrrhena Terra region of Mars. The impact crater at upper centre is 35 kilometres across and around 1000 metres deep, with the rim 400 metres about the surrounding plain. Faint layers of ejecta are present up to 50 kilometres from the crater. To the left of this crater, is a smaller, double impact crater. The image data is from the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on board the European Space Agency's (ESA) Mars Express Orbiter.
