AIDS, RESEARCH Macrophage producing fragments of the AIDS virus. Illustration of the penetration of a modified measles virus after vaccination, enables the macrophages to produce replicas of the virus as well as GP120 and GP41 molecules which in turn trigger an immune response and the production of specific antibodies which attach themselves to the virus' GP41 molucules, preventing them from anchoring to the host cells and reproducing.
